A clear workflow from panel placement to dried venom.
Use clean equipment, follow the recommended session procedure and protect the dried venom from contamination and oxidation.
Prepare the collection panels
Before collection, insert the clean glass plates into each panel and connect the panels to the SMART-BEE collector using the supplied cables. Check that the glass surfaces are clean and dry and that all connections are secure.

Place the panels at the hive entrances
Position the panels at the entrances of the hives with the wires above the glass plates. The panel should be stable and correctly positioned so the bees naturally pass over the collection surface.

Start the collection session
Connect the collector to the appropriate power source and switch it on. The system sends controlled electrical impulses through the panel wires, encouraging the bees to sting the glass surface beneath them without leaving the stinger behind.

Allow the venom to dry on the glass
Bee venom is deposited on the glass in liquid form and quickly dries into a thin crystalline layer. After the collection session, allow the surface to remain dry and protected from contamination before scraping.

Scrape and store the dried venom
Carefully scrape the fully dried venom from the glass using clean tools and collect it in a clean, airtight glass container. For long-term storage, the sealed container can be kept in a freezer at approximately β15 Β°C.

Follow a bee-friendly collection routine
Collection is typically performed during the active bee season. For best performance, SMART-BEE recommends approximately 30 minutes of collection followed by at least 30 minutes of rest for that hive. Panels can be moved to other hives during the rest period, and the same hive can be used again after a break of 2β3 days.

Understand the expected yield
Field experience indicates an average yield of approximately 0.04 g to 0.2 g per hive during a 30-minute collection period. Actual results vary with colony strength, weather, temperature and the time of season.

Clean the panels after collection
After each session, clean the collection panels with a wool or cotton cloth lightly moistened with 96% alcohol. Avoid strongly scented cleaning products, as residual odors may discourage bees from returning to the panels.

Safe for Bees β Scientifically Designed
The gentle electrical impulses used to stimulate venom release are precisely regulated and individually controlled for each panel output. This provides a harmless experience for the bees, preserving colony health while enabling efficient venom extraction.
